Overview
The Bible Championship Scoreboard is a browser-based app for managing live Bible quiz competitions. The moderator uses the Control Panel to control everything, while the audience sees the Live Scoreboard projected on screen.
📋 App Sections
Landing PageHome screen with event info — choose Control Panel or Scoreboard.

🚀 Setting Up for an Event
1Open the app — Go to your quiz website link in Chrome or Edge on your laptop.
2Open Control Panel — Click "⚙️ Open Control Panel" on the landing page.
3Set team count — Click [2] [4] [6] [8] in the 👥 TEAMS selector to match how many teams are competing.
4Name your teams — Type each team's name in the Team Names & Photos section.
5Upload team photos — Click each team's photo box to upload a logo or photo (optional).
6Set the event title — Type your event name in 📝 Event Title under Scoreboard Style. This appears on the scoreboard and PDF export.
7Launch the Scoreboard — Click "🖥️ Launch Scoreboard" in the header. It opens in a new window.
8Project it — Drag the Scoreboard window to your projector or second screen, then press F11 for fullscreen.
💡 Keep the Control Panel on your laptop and the Scoreboard on the projector. Only you see the controls.
❓ Question Counter
− / + buttonsMove back or forward through questions during the quiz.
Total QuestionsSet how many questions are in the quiz (e.g. 20). Counter tracks your progress.
💡 The question counter resets automatically when you do a Full Reset.
⏱ Using the Timer
Set SecondsType the number of seconds per question (e.g. 30).
▶ StartStarts the countdown — visible live on the scoreboard.
⏸ PausePauses the timer mid-countdown.
↺ ResetResets back to the set seconds without starting.
💡 Timer turns yellow at 10 seconds and red at 5. A buzzer sounds at zero.
⏱ Game Time Stopwatch
▶ StartStarts the overall game stopwatch (HH:MM:SS).
⏸ PausePauses the game stopwatch.
↺ ResetResets game time back to 00:00:00.
🏅 Awarding Points
1Set the point value using 🎯 Points Per Question (use ±5 / ±10 buttons or type a value).
2Click the team's colored button in 🏅 Award Points — score updates instantly on the scoreboard.
3To deduct points, set the value to a negative number (e.g. −10) then click the team button.
🏆 Ending the Game
🏆 End GameLocks scores and shows winner announcement on the scoreboard.
▶ Resume GameDismisses the winner overlay and resumes play if needed.
↺ Reset ScoresResets all scores to 0. Use between rounds of the same event.
🗑️ Full ResetClears everything — scores, names, photos, timer. Use for a brand new event.
💡 After the game ends, save the result to history before doing a Full Reset!
🎨 Themes
CP Themes7 colour themes for the Control Panel — Royal Purple, Midnight Navy, Crimson Ember, Emerald Forest, Sunset Amber, Rose Pink, Steel Slate.
SB Themes7 colour themes for the Scoreboard — select the one that looks best on your projector.
💡 CP and Scoreboard themes are independent — you can mix and match.
📜 Quiz History
💾 Save ResultAfter a quiz, click this in the bottom bar to save the final scores, winner and date.
📜 History buttonClick the gold History button in the CP header to view all saved sessions in a popup.
🗑️ Clear HistoryRemoves all saved sessions from history. This cannot be undone.
💡 Up to 20 sessions are stored. The history is saved in your browser — it stays even after closing the app.
📤 Exporting Results
📄 Export CSVDownloads a spreadsheet file with event name, date, time, and all scores.
🖨️ Export PDFOpens a clean, printable results page with rankings, winner highlighted, venue and theme verse. Use Ctrl+P or Cmd+P to print or save as PDF.
✅ Quick Tips
1Set up team names, photos and event title before the event starts.
2Test the Scoreboard on the projector before participants arrive.
3Use Reset Scores between rounds; Full Reset for a completely new event.
4Save to History before Full Reset so you don't lose the results.
5If the app freezes, refresh the browser — all data is saved automatically.
6Press F11 inside the Scoreboard window for fullscreen on the projector.
7App works best on Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
